About the ArtistNAME: Gerry Surha BORN: Atherton Far North Queensland TRIBE: Jiddabal TRIBAL NAME: Illjiddimor As an aboriginal artist from the rainforest of FAR NORTH QUEENSLAND, I have been painting for the last 18 years as a commercial artist. I am one of thirteen children in my family I love to paint the Dreamtime stories of the rainforests, because they are so colorful and the stories are so many. One day I hope to pass down these stories to the next generations and hope they too will get as much satisfaction out of these stories and paintings as I do. As an indigenous artist from FNQ I am one of many artists who continually has to compete with fake imports from overseas. By setting up this website and selling directly to the public it gives an artist like myself 100% return on the products I produce. This cuts out the middle man.
